How to use counter strike source patch?

i have downloaded a new css map. its a zip file. how can i add that map to game? i have rejistered css to steam, do i have to download it from steam?

dude i'm not a fan of Counter-Strike and i've never played Source, but i know in CS 1.6 ther was a folder like C:\Program Files\Counter-Strike 1.6\cstrike\maps and you had to extract the maps there.

look for such a maps folder where you have the game installed

If you have CS:S installed, then extract the map file to the following folder:

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\*YOUR USER NAME*\counter-strike source\cstrike\maps

Then, the next time you start counter strike, click create server and make sure your downloaded map is there, and you should be ready to play it!
