  1. I could go into details to try and explain how to efficiently change gears but I suggest that you just do a search on here of old answers by pumping in the question you already asked as I did that and someone else has already answered a similar question far better than I could,

Quite often on here you can get answers to questions you have simply by checking out already resolved questions.

    enjoy your bike!

  2. simple. just let go of the gas for a second. softly pull on the clutch (no hard stopping) and shift up or down. practice will make you be able to do this really fast so the change is barely noticeable

  3. i am not going to go into the details, but the kx bikes are very tough and shouldnt hurt the transnission, as long as you let it out slow.  you will get the hang of it...good luck!

  4. It is very simple, just pull in the clutch and shift up or down. On an MX bike like the KX you can even shift without the clutch which is what I do much of the time. You aren't going to hurt the transmission. I don't mean any disrespect, but if you don't know how to change gears you probably just bought the worst possible kind of bike you could. A 125 2 stroke is very temperamental and has to be run very hard so as not to foul the plug. These bikes are not for beginners by any stretch of the imagination.

  5. You would get a better response in "Cars & Transportation"> "Motorcycles", This is "Motorcycle Racing"

  6. PULL THE CLUTCH IN PUSH DOWN ON SHIFTER WHILE EASING OFF THE CLUTCH TO GET INTO FIRST GEAR. ONCE YOU START GOING IT GETS PRETTY EASY. DO THE SAME THING BUT PUSH UP ON THE SHIFTER, NOT DOWN.

  7. You can't teach to ride over a computer, can your mates not help.

  8. huh?! You need help in shifting a bike?

shifting a bike is so simple I do it hundreds if not thousands of times without even thinking about it while I am out riding.......

I will be nice here, first off, this is the racing forum, and if you are asking this question, you are not racing......

second....start the bike, get it nice and warm....

third, pull in the clutch, the clutch is on the left side of the handle bar....

fourth.... push the shifter lever down, this will put your bike into first gear...

fifth, while letting out the clutch, give the bike a little throttle, not a lot, but just enough to where the bike will not die....

sixth.... to gain speed, let the clutch all the way out and open the throttle slowly....

now since you are moving now.... you may need to up shift....

while moving, pull in the clutch and pull the shift lever up, this is second gear....

now all up shifting will be the same....

now to down shift, pull in the clutch, and push the shifter lever down......

dont worry about messing up your tranny, the tranny;s inside of dirt bikes are made extremely tough....

  9. Ok first your going to be in 1st gear rolling out, and you let off the throttle so you make sure it doesn't ruin too much if you mess up.

Now that your RPM's are down pull in the clutch until it engages, if you don't know when just pull it all the way in!

Next you scoot your left toe under the shifter, and kind of lift up your knee while you pivot your ankle upwards. Now your main shaft is going to be in 2nd gear!

Now just release the clutch, and give it gas. It really does not have to be perfect just so you don't stall.

Usuall it's faster to pull your RPM's up(just a tad), and then let the clutch out because than it gives you the jolt effect! ITS EASY!! JUST BE SMOOTH ABOUT IT! =]
