How to use hairspray for a high-stacked bob?

I have an extreme angled bob haircut (think Aeon Flux-ish) with very high stackability in the back. I usually use just mousse, a round brush, and a blowdryer, but lately I've been feeling the need for a lot more volume at the crown. I bought a bottle of hairspray, but I'm having trouble acheiving a good amount of volume without messing up the structure of the back. Any suggestions?

backcomb sections and hairspray then gently smooth out the top and spritz with a light hairspray or shine booster.
