Alright,I'm typically a liquid detergent person, but my roommate's mom bought us a box of powder detergent and I have not the slightest clue how much to use in my loads.I've heard it won't work well if you have hard water(which we have) and I don't wanna use too much and have suds all over the place. If you could give any help it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  1. even I (a guy) know how to use powder  lol

powder first then water then clothes

and favre should be a viking!

  2. powder detergent usually comes with a measuring cup, some brands make more soap than others, i hope she brought a name brand or you will need to use a lot to get your laundry clean. if you have no way of measuring you can gradually add the detergent in the beginning of the wash cycle.

  3. First I'd suggest reading the box, they usually tell you how much to use.  Powders do work pretty well, I just happen to think liquids are easier to use.  The biggest downfall of powders is that we now wash a lot of our clothes in cold water either to prevent fading or to save energy or both.  Powders don't dissolve well in cold water most of the time.  That said, I'd suggest dissolving the powder in some hot water in a container and then adding the water - detergent mixture to your washer.  That way you won't (1) get those nasty little undissolved detergent globs, (2) get clogged filters from the undissolved detergent.  Just run some hot water over the detergent in a decent sized container (maybe a medium sized plastic pitcher?) and give it a good stir then add to the washer.

  4. 1/4 for small load

    1/2 cup for medium

1 Full scooper size for LARGE

Add it the top of the clothes mix it well with the green scooper.

In S.California there lot of hard water it works great.

  5. There should be a scoop inside and one scoop should do it for a full load. Congrats on The Penguins

  6. Put the powder in while the washer is filling but before adding the clothes.  IT works fine in hard water but I do not recommend washing darks in powdered detergent.
