How to use telnet to connect to my pc from my laptop?

i hav a laptop which is connected to internet and a PC which is also connected to internet now i want to access my PC how i can do that???

Do u want 2 be sharing files&document btw d 2 pc without internet or u want d 2 pc to be on internet? if its sharing ur documents,file&printer without internet btw d 2pc then u must get a cross-cable. But if u want d 2 pc on internet then u hv to configure router so tht it serve as ur gateway, by setting ip given by ur ISP as ur default gateway&create and ip for d 2 pc. for example

COMPUTER 1

IP 192.168.1.2

SUBNET-MASK 255.255.255.0

DEFAULT GATEWAY 192.168.1.1

COMPUTER 2

IP 192.168.1.1

SUBNET-MASK 255.255.255.0

DEFAULT GATEWAY 192.168.1.1

You will need to know the IP address of the PC computer to connect by TELNET.

HyperTerminal, included with Windows, will perform many telnet operations. You can also locate an array of freeware, shareware or commercial telnet clients from various software Web sites. you can also use Telnet from the command line by typing TELNET <enter>.

To see if you have a telnet application, open a Telnet URL (universal resource locator) from your browser. Type telnet://address.com, omitting http://. The telnet:// command works only from your browser and only if your browser is configured to handle telnet commands

If you don't have telnet software installed on your computer, it's easy enough to find and install HyperTerminal. Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, and double-click Add/Remove Programs. Click the Windows Setup tab, double-click Communications, put a check in the box next to HyperTerminal, and click OK. You may be prompted to insert your  Windows installation disc in the CD-ROM drive.
