How to use the furminator? ?

i bought the furminator and have been brushing my dog once a week with it for about 5 - 10min like the instructions say. however, he is still shedding on me and it doesnt seem to have helped. when i brush him, fur does fall off but it also doesnt seem to stop falling onto the ground.

am i not brushing long enough and not often enough?

I used mine every day for the first week,and now just use it once or twice a week.You just brush gently,like you would your own hair,and brush in the direction that the hair is growing.A LOT of hair will come out at first,but as you keep using it,the amount of hair should decrease. I use it on my German Shepherd and a very heavy-coated mixed breed,and on my cats.It's best used on dogs with an undercoat,not on little dogs with more human-like hair,like Yorkies or Maltese,as it can damage their coats.
