  1. try using *77 ACR this should help a little!!!

  2. They get your info from public records.  Home insurance, car insurance, doesn't matter.  They'll inundate you with junk mails, junk calls, etc.  Put your number on the Do Not Call list.  See the links below.  Something you might want to look into is Grand Central.  It's a free service by Google in beta testing right now.  I'd change my real phone number to something I don't give out to ANYONE ever, even for official business and make sure it's unlisted with the telco.  Give everyone your Grand Central phone number.  This gives you free voice mail, call screening if you wish and a whole host of other features.  One feature is you can type in specific phone numbers you don't want calling you.  You can have the system either dump these calls or put them into voice mail.  You can have it make blocked calls state what their name is first so you can choose whether to accept the call, send it to voice mail or hang up on them.  You can even listen to the person leaving the voice mail message as they're leaving it!  Cool features if you don't mind changing your number.  Otherwise, DoNotCall list and next time the telemarketers call, tell them to remove you from their list.  If they call a couple more times then you can have them fined.
