How to vacuum out a pool with a jacuzzi sand filter.

when I vacuum the pool the dirt enters back into the pool.what setting do i turn it to where it bypasses the filter and leaves the filter.I do not have a waste setting.I have a whirlpool,backwash,filter,rinse setting.

If you put the setting on backwash that will bypass the filter however the water empties quickly...
