How to wash 100% cotton shirts?

i have some shirts made of 100% cotton i heard that somehow they shrink can someoen tell me what makes them shrink and how to wash em properly thanks!

  1. Wash in cold water. Avoid bleach. Oxyclean is wonderful.  


  2. First soak them for 24 hours in cold water. This helps protect against shrinking. You only have to do this once.

    Then wash at 30 degrees Celsius. When the machine stops, take out the shirts straight away and hang to dry on a coat hanger. This way they crease the least.

  3. Wash in cold water and detergent you can machine wash it on the delicate cycle make sure that the soap is all gone when you rinse , the reason that cotton shrink it's because it's a natural fibre, like linen, silk, and others. Don't mix the dark colours with the whites when you wash them they will bleed and cause spots on the light coloured items. to prevent the colour from running add some white vinegar to the rinse and this will lock the colour .
