How to wash a hat? With flat bill?

It has a flat bill, is white, with black seams and other black parts.

What is the best way to wash this hat?

I would wash it in cold water, with say some cold water tide. I would spray the inside of the bill (where it comes into contact with your forehead and your sweat :0) with some shout, let it set for awhile with the shout soaking it.  Wash it on  a gentle cycle and alone.  When it is finished, take it out and stretch it out over a sauce pan bottom and let it air dry, or if your weather is nice, set it outside.  This is an old farmers wives way of washing dirty dusty hayseeded hats and it works, promise!.
