I recently went to japan and bought a whole set of DVD movies.

I tried watching it on the computer. It cant read it.

Most likely its the regional settings or so.

Is there a program that allows me to put a japanese DVD on my computer and watch it?

  1. Yes.  VLC Media Player is a free program that lets you watch DVDs from other regions.  I actually live in Japan and have a Japanese DVD drive, but that program plays my American DVDs fine.  I actually prefer it because it seems to do a better job than my American DVD player. =)

Here is a link where you can download it and try it out:

  2. I changed my regional settings to watch a region 2 once, and I couldn't change it back! It was so stupid.

You can buy a cheap regionless DVD player online for less than $100.

You can only change it so many times, yes. If there were software for it, it would probably be just as expensive (or inexpensive) to buy a region-free player.

I used to be an Otaku myself.
