How to watch movies from pc to tv?

I want to hook my laptop computer to my tv so i can watch movies... what do i need to watch movies from my computer to my tv? On the tv it has a S-vido, and HDMI i don't see any vga..

I have a Sony Bravia. which one do i need?

APPLE TV or another media streaming device, connected to your TV and your network.  You can stream the movies form your computer.

If you want to have a direct connection, you gotta have video output on your computer.  On a Mac it i usually DVI.  VGA on PC.  VGA can be converted into Component with a proper cable.  If your TV does not have component - which is strange - you can buy a convertor to convert VGA into s-video or HDMI.

Does your laptop have a connection for an outboard monitor?  If it does you can get a DVI to HDMI cable from radioshack.  This will only take care of the video side though.  You will also have to run a cable from the audio output of your puter to the TV or sound system.

One way, costly,  is to get a large screen monitor.  Conect this to a desktop or laptop with a tv tuner card.  Then conect the pc to the internet.  You would have both capabilities, to watch tv, have a virtual DVR, and full PC capabilities.
