How to wean two year old who loves to nurse?

I am currently at the tale end of dealing with this myself. I stopped letting him nurse except at bed/naptime. Then I started waiting as long as I could to nurse him so he would fall asleep within minutes. Then I started telling him that he could nurse until I finshed counting to 10, then 5. He has been doing the 5 or 10 second thing for a few weeks now. When he wakes up in the middle of the night he snuggles with me. but I don't think he nurses anymore:) He just lays down and falls asleep near me at night now...last night he literally fell over asleep between hubby and me while we were watching TV.

when my son turned two i decided he'd had enough nursing. we wasnt willing to stop, i tried different things. finally someone told me to put vinegar on the nipples when he was ready to nurse - he was weaned in about three days. i told him they were gone bad and he would put his mouth on and then back off right away.
