  1. The baking soda and lemon juice is horrible for your enamel. It's like power sanding your face to rid yourself of a pimple. Do this a few times and you can look forward to a worn gum line and sensitive teeth.

If you can't see a dentist for an in-office treatment, the next quickest method is to go with a boil and bite custom fit tray kit that has either hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide in graduated syringes. You're looking for a concentration in the range of 10-20%. They sell higher concentrations, but if you have had sensitive teeth in the past the thirty minute to two-hour whitening sessions will be h**l on earth. Also, if there are any cavities you are not aware of, be forewarned that you will know exactly where they are about 10 minutes into your first bleaching session. Forget anything lower than 10%, you won't whiten them without a lot of expensive product.

I used a similar kit and achieved noticable results in 4 treatments (2 per day) with a 10% gel (incredible because I am a smoker and coffee abuser). I used the kit in conjunction with the rembrandt microabrasion toothpaste, rembrandt spot pen (contains a 6% solution that doesn't irritate your mouth) and flouride rinse to help with sensitivity. Don't skimp on the flouride if you're sensitive, seriously.

A big problem with strips is that they are one size fits all, and there can be a generous overlap onto your soft, sensitive gums. Many people have adverse reactions to the gel, including gum shedding and blistering. To solve this problem in your bite and boil kit, take your formed mouthpeice and cut away the extra material above the arc of your tooth imprint, so that the gel does not come in direct contact with soft tissue, and can be easily wiped away if overflowing and causing discomfort.

Beware of overbleaching. Despite what the media would like you to think, unnaturally white teeth can look unusual or even freakish when seen outside the tv tube. I overwhitened mine going through the whole 20 treatments and by the time I was done it looked like I had dentures.

Any otc whitening product is also unlikely to cover all of your teeth. If your molars show when you smile, the shade difference may be noticeable if you are not also using a supplemental toothpaste to whiten them as well, although they do not have to be as white as the anterior teeth to look natural (molars are naturally darker then other teeth).

And to cover all of the bases, you may want to take a mineral supplement before, during, and for a while after treatment. Although there has been no *reported* evidence of dentin or enamel damage from whitening agents, this hasn't been common practice long enough for the long-term effects to be evaluated. Plus they make way too much money to have negative reports issued now.

Good luck, and try not to become an addict!

  2. Don't use chemical cleaners like WhiteStrips(TM) or others. It can be very unhealthy.

The best way to keep your mout and teeth clean is to brush them at least 2 times a day. You should also floss at least once a day.

You should also stop drinking soda. Wanna know why? Because soda makes your body acidic. When your body is acidic, your body will lose minerals. Minerals are essential for strong and healthy teeth and bones.

You might wanna buy a high quality multi mineral supplement. After all, your body is made out of the food you eat.

You also don't have to use toothpastes like Crest etc. These are usually full of preservatives, fluoride, sodium laurel sulfate (it makes the foam) and other potentially harmful substances.

Try TOM's toothpastes. They have good options w/o fluride and preservatives. It's hard to find toothpase without sodium laurel sulfate.

Trust me. You don't need chemicals to keep your teeth clean. You just need to be responsible. Quick fixes don't do anyone good. I've perfectly white teeth and never used chemicals or unhealthy toothpastes.

    Good luck!

  3. Yes it helps. Lemon juice, baking soda or baking powder can also be used for teeth whitening. Rubbing the bark of walnut tree brightens the teeth. Strawberries are natural teeth whiteners, simply rub them directly on your teeth or mash into a paste and apply.More remedies and information regarding your teeth at http://useinfo-dentalcare.blogspot.com/

  4. Apart from getting them done professionally by a dentist - there's a new product in the chemist that looks like nail varnish - you can just paint it on your teeth and it whitens them by making a film that lasts for hours. It does work and is good for special nights out where you want extra white teeth :0

  5. Commercial tooth whiteners use hydrogen peroxide and are expensive and inconvenient. A cheap and natural tooth whitening home remedy uses few strawberries but certain precautions have to be taken. I found the information at http://www.aches.in/toothwhitening.html

  6. It's not  the  best  way .

  7. You can buy teeth whitening toothpastes but they can be pricey some you can use everyday and others once a week. They also come with a money back guarantee usually because there is usually a whitening guide with the toothpaste and if your not happy then you should get your money back.

  8. You can try Crest Whitestrips Premium 7 Day Dental Whitening Formula. You will see a difference in just a few days!!! It's a little bit cheaper than normal whitening procedure since most whitening will cost about $500 compare to Crest Whitestrips.

  9. well the most efficient way is to go to a dentist. if you dont want to do that, then use those whitening things that dissolve on your teeth. and brush ur teeth for at least 2 minutes with toothpaste that is designed to whiten ur teeth. also, chew whitening gum.

    good luck!

  10. you go to the dentist!  and ask for teeth whitening service!  :D
