I am a Scorpio female, and even though i'm said to be good at "seducing", I think that this specific guy might like a Cancer girl but I'm not sure, they are not dating, but they are friends, whilst me and the Scorpio guy aren't friends [i want to get to know him] but yesterday he approached me telling me i look great with an amazing smile. Do Scorpio males prefer Scorpio's or cancer's more in general? And what would make the better match in this case?

the cancer girl would be better suited. two scorps together there would be too much in common or too many easy annoyances.

scorpio/scorpio are an electric combination but scorpio/cancer is a great match in different way. my guess is that they might get together in the future but are happy as mates for now. trust your instincts, we scorpios are rarely wrong . and if it doesn`t last forever  at least you`ll have had a great time
