Learn about and only use the money line. There is no point spread in baseball like football and basketball. Instead you would bet more money on a favorite to win less and win more money on an underdog and risk less. For example, if the line is -140 on The Yankees over The Twins, that means that you would risk $140 to win $100. If you were to bet on the Twins in that same game, you would win $130 or lose $100 with a dime line.

Find a gambling account that offers a dime line instead of a twenty cent line. In a dime line a -140 favorite would be paired with a +130 underdog. If it was a twenty cent line, the underdog would only be paid +120. It's a difference of 10 cents on every dollar which in time would add up.

Study that day's starting pitching. It is the most important stat for wagering on baseball. Even bad teams have at least one good starting pitcher and that will significantly alter the Vegas odds. It is especially important to look at the pitcher's last 3 starts and what their numbers are against the team they're pitching against.
