How to wire 2 subs to a 1 channel amp?

can i power 2 12inch kicker CVR subs to a 1 channel mono amp (Kicker zx 1000x1) how will i need to wire the subs and the amp?

  1. you can, those should be dual voice coil subs, if you are using 2ohm dual voice coil and wire them in series the amp will see 2ohms(ideal 1000 watts rms 500 to each sub) if you wire them in parallel the amp will see 0.5 ohms (not ideal) if the kickers are 4 ohms dual voice coil and you run them in parallel the amp will see 1ohm (not ideal for that amp) if you run them in series the amp will see 4 ohms (some what ideal if you only want to put 250 watts into each sub. If you have not bought the subs yet i would go with the dual 2ohms for 1000 watts of power, if not and you have the 4 ohm dual voice coil i would look into a more powerful amp or one that is one ohm stable, if you want to know how to wire them here http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/wo... the cvrs have dots on the speaker post that let you know which is the main connector
