How to wire a 2ohm sub to 1 ohm?

i have a 2ohm dual voice coil 15" kicker cvr on a tma 500.1 amp

  1. like RPM said, if you wire that sub down to 1ohm and present a 1ohm load to that amp you run a high risk of overheating the amp because it is not 1ohm stable, and a risk of damaging the sub because it will receive a distorted signal


  2. Why wire a TMA 500.1 to 1 ohm?  They're only 2 ohm stable.  Wiring the two voice coils in parallel is the answer, but running that amp at a 1 ohm load is not recommended.  If you can return the amp, there are quite a few in the market that can reliably run 1 ohm.

  3. Have both positive terminals on the sub going to the positive enclosure terminal.

    Have both negative terminals on the sub going to the negative enclosure terminal.

    This would be called wiring in parallel.
