  1. The color combination you listed doesn't mean a thing to me. Color combinations and/or wire numbers usually designate the voltage and the location of the wire(s). You will have to find information on the motor.... usually on the nameplate which will be located on the outside of the motor, or on the inside cover of the "p****r head" - the small box where the wires are spliced that is attached to the motor. If you can't find any information on the motor, call the manufacturer and they should be able to give you the information you need....as long as you can give them a little information about the motor. Good Luck

  2. First, is it for furnace or condenser, then look at side of new motor, there should be wiring diagram, let's say(example)

                                                                          black=common

                                                                          orange=high speed

                                                                          yellow=medium or low speed

    Then take old motor and look at wiring diagram and match common and speeds with your new motor.

    So if old motor shows(example)             white=common

                                                                       black=high speed

                                                                       red   =medium or low

    Then connect -Black from new to+ White from old motor

                            -Orange from new to+ Black from old motor

                           -Yellow from new to+ Red from old motor

  3. on the name plate does it say whether it is a psc or shaded pole motor.....the motor should have a wiring diagram on it ... if it does not there should be one on the equipement that it came off of...black is normally always for high speed. yellow is normally always the common lead...orange could be for low speed, but on some motors orange is the common and yellow is low speed..so you need to take the motor to an electric motor repair shop and have them tell you how to connect the leads so the motor will run...if you hook it up wrong it will burn up faster than you can turn the power off...
