How to work a digital tachograph?

when driving my hgv , the digital tacho displays a overspeed message, if i was to get stopped by vosa, could i get prosecuted for this

  1. technically you could because the overspeed message comes on when you have exceeded the vehicles limited speed for more than 1 minute therefor if you get stopped and they plug your tacho in it will tell them youve been a naughty boy and you might get a nice letter from the area traffic commissioner telling you not to do it again or you will be in big trouble. dont forget new digi tachos tell everything you do wrong not like the cards where they have to find it


  2. just press okay twice to clear it

  3. press ok twice to clear message. overspeed  usually after 93km/ph.

    as long as you don't go above 97km/ph(60mph) you should be ok in the UK.

    always be sure to watch you're speed down hill
