  1. 1.  Mechanical Engineering

    2.  Industrial Engineering

Try and get in to a pretty good engineering school.  They all do a lot of recruiting at them.

Get a background in something different for a minor (Liberal Arts)?

Also, be able to relocate around to different parts of the country, especially the Mid-West/Southern US.  Be flexible with Occasional Japan Travel.

  2. As a mechanic, go to a technical school like UTI or Lincoln Tech.

As a mechanical engineer designing mechanical parts like engines and hinges-Go to college and major in mechanical engineering. You need a 3.0GPA average in most schools.

As a car desiger, go to a college that offers automotive design. These schools are usually only in Michigan or California or other countries. Some companies also hire Industrial Designers and Industrial Engineers too to design their cars and engines.

As a car sales man or manager at a dealership, just major in business at any college.

    Hope this helps. Good Luck.

  3. If you're looking to be a Toyota tech, try this link and see if there is a school nearby. http://www.toyota.com/about/tten/

  4. A buddy of mine is currently working for Toyota as a mechanic. He went to UTI in Arizona for 2 years and was offered jobs all over.
