How to you do this?.....Algebra 1?

-7(1-4x) = 13(2x-3)

...

I dont know if im starting to do it correctly..

First distributed, then I added 7 to each side and ended up with

28x=26x-32

I am probably wrong but if you can help me - I would appreciate it :)

  1. -7 + 28x = 26x - 39

    28x = 26x - 32

    2x = -32

    x = -16

  2. -7+28x=26x-39

  3. dont remember that well

      let me check if it comes out well

    -7(1-4x) = 13(2x-3)

    -7(3x)=13(-1x)

    (3x+1x)=+7+13

    (4x)=21

    X=84

    sorry i know its not right i just dont remember that well....

  4. -7+28x=26x-39

    2x=-32

    x=-16

    There you go.. :)

  5. try to figure out x

  6. Let's see.

    -7 + 28x = 26x - 39

    2x = 7 - 39 = -32

    x = -16

  7. -7(1-4x) = 13(2x-3)

    distribute

    -7+28x = 26x-39

    add seven over to -39

    28x = 26x-32

    subtract 26x over to 28x

    2x = -32

    divide 2 over to -32

    x = -16

    and this is the answer above

  8. -7(1-4x)=13(2x-3)

    -7+28x=26x-39

    add 7 and subtract 26

    -32=2x

    -16=x

  9. So far it is o.k. Now  add  -26x on both side

    2x=-32

    x=-16

    There we are...

    good luck!

  10. 1. 28x=26x-32.

    2. 28x-26x=-32

    3. 2x=-32

    4. 2 divided by -32

    5. x=-16

  11. You need x on one side and a constant on the other. You can't solve it when there are variables on each side.

  12. You did it perfect. Just finish it. Subtract the twenty six from the twenty eight then divide the -32 by the answer you get... should get x=-16

  13. -7+28x=26x-39

    2x=-32

    x=-16

  14. Your OK so far. Now subtract 26x from both sides. That becomes:

    2x = -32

    I'm sure you can finish up

  15.     -7(1-4x) = 13(2x-3)

    or -7+28x =  26x-39

    or 28x-26x= -39+7

    or        2x = -32

    or           x=-32/2

    or           x=-16

  16. first multiply out both sides:

    -7+28x=26x-39

    collect terms:

    28x-26x=7-39

    2x=-32

    x= -16

  17. Your on the right path, but it needs be simplified more.Follow along:

    Distribute -7 to (1-4x) and distribute 13 to (2x-3)

    Now you have:

    -7-28x = 26x-39

    Whatever you prefer move one term to the other side of the equals sign to get the "x" by itself. let's do -7 by adding 7 to both sides.

    -7+7= 0 (it cancels out)

    -39+7= -32

    Now you have:

    28x = 26x-32

    Now, lets move the "x" to the left side by subtracting 26x.

    26x-26x = 0 (it also cancels out)

    28x-26x = 2x

    Now you have:

    2x = -32

    Now solve for "x". By dividing both sides by 2.

    2/2 = 1(you don't have to write 1x if 1 is the coefficient instead we write just "x")

    -32/2 = -16

    Now you have:

    x = -16

    Plug in -16 for "x", and use the order of operations to check yourself. e-mail me if you would like me to show you that. Good Luck

  18. not very hard.

    1)rewrite the problem

    2) get "x" by itself: since 28 is on the oppisite side of the equal sign you subtract 26 from the right side of the equal sign. But in math whatever you do to one side u have to do to the other. so when you subtract 26 from each side you should get 2x= -32.

    3) you still want to get x by itself so divide 2 to each side. Your answer should be x= -16

  19. -7(1-4x) = 13(2x-3)

    -7+28x = 26x - 39  (distribute)

    2x = -32

    x=-16

    your original thought process was right. you then had to subtract 26x from 28x

  20. You are doing fine. Now you just need to subtract 26x from each side and you'll get

    2x = -32

    Then you just need to divide everything by 2 and you will have the solution

    x = -16
