Question:

How to you get muscles in the stomach

how do you get muscles in the sides of your abdominals (i dont know what its called ) i know some such as twissting when you do the sit-ups and using a stick behind you shoulders and twisting going to your feet.

But is there anymore intense exercises apart from those ones. Any ideas??

  1. Try bridges.  You can also modify them by lifting on hand and foot, putting your feet on a ball, or doing them on your side.  Experiment with different angles and keep doing them for longer times.  

    Also, try holding your legs out straight in front of you and leaning back balancing on your rear end (you look like a big "V").  Get a partner to toss a medicine ball at you.  After you catch it in both hands, twist one way and tap it on the ground by your hip, then turn the other way and tap it by the other hip, then hold it overhead and toss it back with both hands.  Repeat that for a few reps/sets.

    Also eat like the Asians do---fresh vegetables, lots of fish and NO sloppy Joes!


  5. Tae Bo has great exercises for your sides. My volleyball coach also suggests sideways sit ups. Lay on your side with your outside foot flat on the ground (knee bent upward towards the ceiling). Crunch toward your bent leg.

  6. Your probably thinking of your obliques.

    abs are all about diet...and if you have fat on your midsection...no matter how many ab exercises you do, you still wont see much. I'm not saying to not strengthen your abs...but if you want them to be visible lose the fat and eat right.

  9. everyone has muscles on the stomach but a layer of fat covers them. burn fat off your middles and you will see them. you can exercise them too, but work on diet first.
