You need a BS degree in something like biology or zoology.

But any 4 year degree will do.

Then you submit a resume to the interior department.

They are always advertising for Forest Rangers on federal job web sites.

I have a friend who is an FR.  He earned a Bachelor's Degree in zoology and then went to the police academy.  The most challenging part is the degree.  He loves his job.  You should check your state jobs page and see what they want.

These jobs are  usually federal or state. You would have to apply through the state or federal govt and take the state or federal civil service exam.

The state and fed govt give veterans' preference. While serving in the military is not a requirement, if it  comes down to choosing between a vet and a non-vet, the vet would get the job.
