  1. You have to work out the common denominator.

In your case make the 5 and 7 on the fraction into 35

So now times the 4 on top by by 7 and the 6 on top by 5

So you now have fraction of 28/35 + 30/35 plus the whole numbers.

So you now have 58/35 making a whole plus 23/35 remaining

So the answer is 12 and 23/35ths.

  2. add 3+8=11

    add 4/5+6/7=(28+30)/35=58/35=1 23/35

    Then

    11+1 23/35=12 23/35

  3. = 3 4/5 + 8 6/7 Transform to improper fractions

    = 19/5 + 62/7 Determine the least common denominator (LCD): 35

    = 133/35 + 310/35

    = 443/35 or 12 23/35

    Answer: 12 23/35

    Another way:

    = 3 4/5 + 8 6/7

    = 3 28/35 + 8 30/35

    = 3 58/35

    = (3 + 8 + 1) (58 - 35)/35

    = 12 23/35

  4. 3 + 8 + (4 * 7 + 6 * 5) / (5 * 7) = 11 + 58 / 35

    ********** 58 / 35 = 1 + 23/35

    11+58/35 = 12 + 23/35

  5. Convert the bottom number to the same.  so if its a 5 and a 7, then do it all to 35ths.

so 4/5 is the same as 28/35 and 6/7 is the same as 30/35.

  6. Well you could add the whole numbers then add the fractions, or convert to topheavy fractions. Both ways you need to make the fractions have a common denominator.

    First method:

    3 + 8 + 4/5 + 6/7

    =3 + 8 + 28/35 + 30/35

    = 11 + 68/35

    = 12 33/35

    2nd way:

    3 4/5 = 3 * (5/5) + 4/5 = 19/5 = 133/35

    8 6/7 = 8 * (7/7) + 6/7 = 62/7 = 310/35

    3 4/5 + 8 6/7 = 133/35 + 310/35 = (133+310)/35 = 443/35 = 12 33/35

    Hope that helps.

  7. 3 28/35 + 8 30/35 = 11 58/35 = 12 23/35.

  8. Its easy, either change the fractions to improper fractions then find the common denominator and then simplify the rest of sum.

  9. too easy~
