Technique - All about the movement. If you can't move fast enough, you obviously won't get to the ball. The way you bump, set, and spike, is all in the technique. You can practice your technique by hitting the ball against the wall.

Rules - Way too many to list. Simple ones are 8 seconds to serve, if the ball hits the line it's still in. Can't touch the net. Can't have your whole foot across the plane. If you hit the ceiling and it goes to the other side, it's out. Can't interfere with a pass or set on the other side. 3 hits. And don't stop till you hear the whistle. There is obviously more, you could probably just google them.
