How top NHL players are going to be at their new teams and adjust at the new places after transfers
This transfer agency, there were a lot of new singings and trades that took place, involving few of the top players of the National Hockey League (NHL). It is going to be interesting to see how they all are going to adjust at the new places, in the new team, with new players.
All of the spectators would also be looking at what would be the performance of the teams after inclusion of their new players. Here are some stats and views about it.
Rick Nash to New York Rangers
If there was a transfer saga that excited everyone most, it was Rick Nash’s transfer. The captain of Columbus Blue Jackets and a top class forward, who had been performing very well for last 5-6 seasons, but wanted to be traded because of the team’s bad run and poor finishes in the league since 2006.
Even though he was an Olympic Games Gold medallist and World Championship winner with Team Canada, Blue Jackets wanted to get rid of him and they found it beneficial for them to trade him to New York Rangers, taking players who had much lower rating than him.
Now it would be interesting to see how Blue Jackets would do without him as Nash scored 50+ points in last five seasons. It would also be interesting to see him playing at Rangers and how much he would lift their performance.
Zach Parise/Ryan Suter to Minnesota Wilds
Two of the biggest signings, money wise and players’ ratings wise, were twin signings of Ryan Suter and Zach Parise by Minnesota Wilds. Ryan Suter being one of the best defensemen and Zach Parise being on the best forwards were being watched by everybody.
Their destinations were a question mark for everyone but nobody would have imagined that both top players would sign for the same team. Everybody was shocked when it was announced by Minnesota Wilds that they have signed both top players in huge deals.
Both of them were given contracts of 13 years for $98 million. And now Minnesota Wilds would obviously be one of the toughest teams after inclusion of these two players. All of their fans would be eager to see both players in their team when new season starts as they have also being given positions of Alternate captains.
Another thing would be to see how their former teams are going to manage without them. Nashville Predators was already in trouble after releasing Suter as there were chances of their other defenseman Shea Weber leaving the team. They had to match an offer sheet of $110 million by Philadelphia Flyers to keep their blue line strong.
Whereas Zach Parise’s exclusion from New Jersey Devils would also affect his former side as he has been a very high scoring player. He helped them reach the finals of Stanley Cup last season by scoring 15 points in the 24 playoff games and 69 points in the 82 regular season games.
