How true is the statement " looks dont matter to me " ?

As sad and pathetic as this may sound, this is true.

I just realised that every girl that has ever liked me or I have been intimate with has told me one common thing and i quote -- " looks aren't important to me ...I prefer nice guys ,someone sensitive like you " --- OUCH !!! --- and sometimes this is the answer i get when i ask them what kind of guys they like.-- OUCH again !! --

I consider such a reply to be a relationship killer. They are, aren't they ? What they really mean to say is that I'm ugly, right ? I know thats what they are thinking.

Any insight into this situation would be of great help and help me overcome my emotional distress this is causing me. I feel shattered.

they are NOT calling you ugly at all that is not wat it means it means that they really like u for who u are and if u werent so great looking they wouldnt care u should b glad they said that. if u need any more help feel free to email me

it is not the looks that matter . i m say crazy about jay z, he is obviously not someone with great faetures but his attitude kills mahn.

so if u carry yourself well, u can never be called ugly , 'ugly'  is for those people who don't maintain themselves ,got it!

i am sure u are no less than a rockstar to have so many girls around who tell u what they feel.

Okay when they say that they don't mean ur ugly, they just mean ur not freaking HOT or some stuff like that. It doesn't mean ur ugly tho! and why do u feel shattered? Thats supposed to be a compliment!!!!

I agree that looks don't matter. I mean I don't want my girlfriend to look that ugly. from a scale of 1- 10 she has to be atleast a 5 or higher. Looks don't matter to me bacause looks r jus temporary.All i'm looking for in a girl is a good personality, fun to hang out with, and jus like to chill. So jus remeber that looks don't last forever.

When a girl says that looks dont matter to me .. it means that if a girl has to choose been two guys who are both average looking but one guy cares for her more than the other

than she will go for the guy that cares more for her ... in this situation looks wont matter to her as both are average looking ...

the idea is that all girls want decent looking men and they will not compromise on love .. they shd be very very loving .... they can compromise on looks if they are anything above 5 (on a scale of 10 )or more..

when it comes to loves most girls want 10 on 10 ....

Lastly it also depends on how the girl looks ... if she is more attractive than she wants a attractive guy and vice versa

In your case the girls really dont want to hurt u and have seen that u r a nice guy ... thats y they choose u .. otherwise they would not ..

Girls these days are very hurt and are scared to begin a relationship with someone that might hurt them. Don't take what those girls say as a 100%  insult there saying that your sweet and they WANT to be with you even if your not the look that they want. Therefore i think that if girl is telling you that its becuase she doesnt care how you look, she wants your inside. I've been in that position before and i have liked someone who wasnt super hot, but he had a great inside. Atleast you have a great personality...and the way you look isn't a fact it's an opinion so im sure one day someone will like you in and out. So don't be sad over this becuase there are many guys who are super hot and have a terrible inside and have no one becuz they suck, and if they do have someone it won't last.  And sometimes girls say things one way and they mean it another. im sure they all find you super cute!

It's not just girls, but it's the same way for guys. People are just more attracted to people that are good looking. When people say "Looks dont matter to me" it mostly means that they dont look for like totally gorgeous or handsome opposite s*x, but just decent looking with nice/caring personality. Everyone has their standards on appearance.
