Question:

How unhealthy is that southern style chicken sandwhich from mcdonalds? or, what's the healthiest thing there?

it's right up the street from my work - my only option for my short lunch today. i hate their salads, they taste funny to me.

i like that sandwhich - how many calories does it have??? or overall how bad is it for you????

what should i get there sandwhich wise? i know they're ALL bad haha, but i'm outta options right now.

  1. i agree that you should just pack something to bring to work

    you can save money and its definitely a healthier alternative

    ..i think pretty much everything from mcdonalds is unhealthy


  2. its not good for you but you can sqeeze the oil out and it will be perfect!!!lol but i think the best thing their for ya would be the chicken strips their not to bad! but if you can help it go to a quiznos and get a chicken carbonara with bacon no mushrooms it the best!!!!

  3. Geez people, everyone knows they're not the healthiest choice, she's asking what she should get, not whether she should eat there or not!

    Personally, if it's your only option, who cares about the calorie content? It's just one sandwich, live a little sometime! ;) It does have 400 calories, and 1030 mg of sodium which is a lot but it tastes good! :P

    Personally, if i had no choice, i'd just go with the big-n-tasty, by far that is as close as a simple burger at Mc Donalds, but you have to ask for lil mayo or none at all... cuz they pack it on!

    don't they have nuggets for $1/4 pieces?

I eat that sandwich quite a bit and don't think it's all that healthy.  I believe it is fried, because it's getting greasier as time goes on.  I think packing your own little lunch sandwich and a cup of soup would be much better if you're trying to be healthy.  I only eat at McD's when I need to gain weight and then it all settles in my pooch!

The chicken selects have more fat than a Big Mac.  The "yogurt" parfait is actually a sugar shake.  If you want to know the healthiest thing there, get the regular hamburger, toss the bun.  Maybe that fruit/walnut thing, but I think that has sugar on that too.  If they have a grilled chicken wrap, get that and toss the wrap.  I don't do low-carb, but I don't do bread there either the sugar/salt content is crazy high.

    On a personal note, when I don't bring my lunch I raid the vending machine for nuts or raisins, and drink lots of water.  Good luck!
