i currently house my gerbils in an aquarium and it is working well but they are quite bored and i find it hard to keep replacing their toys because they chew through them so fast. i have bought a rotostack cage for keeping them in for a few hours a day, its one of those cages with tunnels coming out in some places. is this too dangerous for them to live in for just a few hours ?

  1. It's not dangerous for them but you wont be able to keep them in there.

I give you 2-3 days and they chewed them self out!

Really they will chew a hole in it in no time, i have such a pipe laying in my gerbil cage for a week now and there is not much left of it.

Best is an iron cage if its only for a few houres a day.

  2. it is perfectly safe as long as you are always there when they are in it that way you will notice if they try to chew they're way out. dont put them in it if you are not there
