  1. In playing internet games, cognitive development of kids exist. They used their minds in playing the internet games. Actually internet games is sometimes edutainment, education entertainment, however too much for that one will lead the kids to laziness.

Why laziness? because, instead of studying their homework, they are lured with entertainment- the internet games that might destruct their attention to their studies.

  2. I beleive that, like any other educational tool or TV program or whatever, you have to evaluate each program individually.  There is a lot of good stuff on the internet and on cd-rom.  There is also a whol elot of absolute c**p.  You also have to evalaute the needs of the child(ren) you intende to have using it.  Computer based games should reinforce known skills.  They should nt be the primary, direct instruction of new ideas.  One secondary benefit to computer based programs is the introduction of this vital technology at an early age.  The skills and vocabulary necessarry for people to be prodictive, computer literate citizens are consideraable.  It's good to start early.  Using a mouse enhances fine motor skills and visual motor integration.  The only drawback I can see is overly relying on computers to do everything.
