I live in the UK and I am fluent in Arabic as well as English. How useful is this when applying for a job? Will it increase my wage? Or will they be more likely to accept me?

  1. i disagree

i think that potentially it could be very useful

depending on what job sector you wish to apply to.

It may very well increase your wage as language students

    generally earn more :)

    good luck anyway

    heny

  2. Of course it will be an asset , you have a skill that not many have and like all skills it has a price , i would think the travel industry would be intreasted or maybe embassies who deal with the Arabs, The police use lingerists all the time , although i think our Arab bretherin are very well behaved so that might not be an option

  3. Cookie is right, unless you want to be a language specialist or something. That is the only way you are gonna get paid for Arabic

  4. Arabic is a good language, i have found it very use full when finding a job there is not many arabs in uk, so the language is not used much....

if you are applying for a job in languages you can use arabic but other then that is not much good, you can add it to you cv as a skill because it is a skill.

if you want to use arabic you could try get a job n translation or in language school.

there are alot of people who want to learn arabic in uk.

i hope you find some solution for your answer.

  5. not really but remember if you speak two languages... that better than just one... who knows when the manager or boss will need someone who speaks arabic

  6. not very... but then again it depends on the job i supose, all i know is there is still an option to take arabic as a GCSE so i guess it must count for somthing.

  7. no use at all. we speak english here. you will be accepted for who you are not the languages you speak.
