I'm thinking of buying a laptop for when I go to uni in a few weeks. For those of you who went to or are at uni, how useful did you find having a laptop? Was it essential, or could you have done without it?

  1. very useful, get a cheapo netbook

  2. I suppose it would be immensely useful but it depends on your needs. Some unis give their notes etc.. as document files and some even require you to have a laptop for recording info at lectures electronically. But it is certainly more useful than a desktop, especially if you are living in a room/hostel.

  3. Hi,

I was a student for 4 years and I definitely needed my laptop. There was no chance to manage Uni without it. No matter if you have to write term papers or do some research, a laptop is essential for Uni.

I had not much money as I started to study therefore I bought a good-valued laptop.

I found some laptops that you might like.

  4. i am a tafe student and i couldnt live without my laptop. it is vital in completing assignments and not have to stay back at the tafe. lol

  5. In my first year I didn't have a laptop and in my 2nd I did. It made the world of difference. It meant I could do my essays straight on the computer instead of doing them in rough and then typing it up when I happened to find a uni computer that wasn't taken. It's also good to have your own computer to keep in touch with people from home more easily.  I think you should get one.

  6. Yo, you will def need a laptop or desktop at uni to do all your work, you will get a headache going to the silly library all the time.
