How violent is Pan's Labyrinth?

I'm almost fifteen years old, and really want to see Pan's Labyrinth. I love movies, and I know people who saw it and they all really liked it, said I should see it. My mother doesn't know if she wants to let me see it, though, because of the violence. Is it a good movie, and how gory is it? Thanks.

  1. The worst there is would be the leg amputation (you don't see a lot), and a guy gets his nose and face smashed to bits by an officer. That part is pretty gory. Another part is a cheek getting slashed by a razor. I think that's it. It's pretty tame for today's standards. Excellent movie though, I loved it.

  2. The violence really isn't that bad. A guy gets his leg amputated (you see nothing, but hear), a guy gets his head bashed, and that's it. And plus it's not really a horror movie it's like a fantasy.

  3. It's not a very violent movie really, but it is very dark and has some horror elements. I would say that as a 15 yr old you should be able to handle it.

  4. It's very gory.  It has a lot of brutal violence and gore including a man's cheek sliced through when a paring knife is put in his mouth.  It also has some intense torture scenes with tools and even a bloody miscarriage, I believe (it's been over a year since I viewed it, so I'm not sure about the last one).  It's not a kid's movie even though it has a whimsical wood nymph in it.  And be aware that it is a Spanish-language movie, so if you don't like subtitles you might not like it.  But you shouldn't allow subtitles to dissuade you from any movie, so that might not be an important factor.

  5. It is a wonderful movie.  My all time favorite.  The violence does get graphic at parts, but at some parts when it can get quite gorey they cut out and move onto the next scene.

  6. NOT VIOLENT AT ALL

NO GORE AT ALL (except a little blood)

    NO SEXUALITY AT ALL

    NO NUDITY AT ALL

    mild language

    don't even know why it's 14A

  7. I wouldn't consider it "gory" .. but it is rather "unpleasant".  I found it depressing and mean-spirited - and I love a lot of dark dramas, etc.  There's nothing really "magical" about this movie. If you're  looking for a movie like David Bowie/Jennifer Connelly's "Labyrinth" or "NeverEnding Story" ... this isn't it.

  8. awesome movie!!!
