How warm does it need to be for me to get a tan?

It has all to do with the UV rating and nothing to do with the temperature.  Of course if it were freezing,   it would be a moot point...

You can get a sunburn on the roof of your mouth while walking on a glacier. Temperature has nothing to do with it.

It's the sun's rays that give you the tan, temperature doesn't matter. You can get a nasty sunburn even on a ski slope.

Temperature isn't relevant.  You can get a tan while skiing.

Tanning is caused by ultraviolet radiation from the sun, not by heat. You'll tan as long as you're in direct sunlight for an extended period of time.
