How warm does it need to be for me to get a tan?

  1. It has all to do with the UV rating and nothing to do with the temperature.  Of course if it were freezing,   it would be a moot point...


  2. You can get a sunburn on the roof of your mouth while walking on a glacier. Temperature has nothing to do with it.

  3. It's the sun's rays that give you the tan, temperature doesn't matter. You can get a nasty sunburn even on a ski slope.

  4. Temperature isn't relevant.  You can get a tan while skiing.

  5. Tanning is caused by ultraviolet radiation from the sun, not by heat. You'll tan as long as you're in direct sunlight for an extended period of time.
