Question:

How warm should i keep my terrarium?

Like what temp.?

So far what i have in it is soil with a palm and an ivy and som rocks with a sectioned off water area...what temp should i keep it at? I have a desk lamp on it that is 50W and 20V and it puts off heat for some reason!! lol so i guess i dont ahve to get a heat lamp?? but can you tell me if this will help heat the tank to the right temp?

  1. we do need to know what kind of animal...be specific...even different snakes have different needs...same for lizards different lizards have different needs...


  2. Goodness gracious, dear.  As stated above - the set up is just fine for the PLANTS, but what kind of animal are you intending to put in the terrarium?!!

    Frogs/newts/lizards/salamanders/etc. all have different light and heat requirements.

    So, are you just making a nice tank full of pretty plants, with a pool they can enjoy?  Or will some sort of animal be introduced to this tank?

    I found this question under reptiles.  Were you instead meaning to post it under house plants?

  3. We need to know what you are keeping in the terrarium.  Different animals have different needs.
