How was I interfering with a police officer?

A friend got hit by a car outside the place I work, I spoke to the police and told them what I knew. When I got off work I went to the hospital, she was refusing a blood alcohol test when we got there and got up and left the emergency room. All of us there to see her left too. Now I get an interference with the police citation. The police were there when I arrived but left before everyone else. Why should I get the citation? the police pulled myself and the driver of the car we were in over and asked if we knew where she was but we did not. They let us go home. 1 week later I get the citation...any advise on what to do?

It is called "Guilt By Association" Fight the h**l out of it even though it is very hard. Do not ignore the citation as they can put a "Bench Warrant" out for your arrest.
