How was Seth Rogen able to just walk into agencies when he first moved to LA with no experience?

In an interview, he stated "when I first moved to LA, I went out to meet with agencies, and one of them asked me what my goals were. I said “to be in a kevin smith movie.” That goal has not changed."

Seth Rogen had been a stand up comedian and doing commercial work since he was a teen. Judd Apatow "discovered" Seth when he was a teen in Canada. He is also an extremely talented writer, which helped to get him parts.

There are a few LA agencies that will allow you to come in or mail in your photo/resume even if you don’t have any professional experience.
