How was getting your first job like ?

im trying to get a job, and so far im having no luck

i just moved in to tha area from another country and im only 18

im workin my *** to get a job and so far im getting c**p

is that fair ?

It's kinda hard as a teen to get a job cause employers are looking for someone reliable with a source of transportation.

I got a job that was 4 minutes away from my house in a car.

So my dad could always bring me.

But cause I was young, it was a temporary job for about 3 months.

Everyone is off college right now so most jobs will be full up through about August. I know this probably doesn't help your current situation, but just try not to be too picky for right now. You might have some luck on construction...maybe. You could try going thru a temp agency. Otherwise you are probably going to have trouble for a bit.

It's not easy getting your first job.

You have no experience, so everyone gives you c**p.

But it gets better when you have qualifications and experience.

Well assuming your in the US. I'm a 19 year old girl and it took me months and tons of applications to get a job.  It isn't very easy, but it will happen for you.  You just gotta keep on keeping on.  Don't give up, and don't limit your options if you really want to get a job.

The first rule is not to be picky get a job that pays little and work your way up. Try fast food places, grocery stores, ect. they always look for younger people to work later shifts. Resteraunts hire for dishwashers and bus boys alot.

I was a flyer deliverer for awhile...

it was easy to get though,

not like a real job at all.

Oh, you poor thing. Jobs are stressfull and demanding but if you keep at it you will get the money you need to support yourself. I am only 14 so I wouldn't know.

well when i first got my first job it was very exciting for me, dont think your gonna get paid a lot of money, start off somewhere small so you can start a resume, it doesnt matter where but for Ex. you can go apply at fast food restaurants, i know it doesnt sounds good but am sure they will hire you, also telemarketing jobs are always hiring, and they do pay a lot of money but it is very boring, try it out and see for yourself. : )

the market for jobs is no good plus u r foreign so it will b extra difficult for u. try retail thats easy to get into especially big department stores.

My first job was at a fast food place.  It was very easy to get in there, they hire nearly all that apply since people quit those places a lot. It's a crappy job!

I was there for nearly 5 years!  It sucked, but I made life long friends.

I got my first job on my first interview. The job seemed to be going alright. I still have it. But now I hate it and trying to find a new job before I quit this one.  Try working at the mall, that's what I'm going for. Good Luck!
