How was it like in ninth grade?

Since I'm going to be a freshman, I'm kinda nervous about what it's gonna be like. I heard that freshman year is usually the worst year because people in higher grades would torment ninth graders.

So is ninth grade really all that bad?

  1. it's not that bad don't worry.

  2. its not that bad at all.

they dont really torment freshmen that bad.

a couple times theyll say "frosh" or "freshmen!!"

but other than that its fine.

the work isnt that hard either.

junior year is the hardest i hear.

but watch out for freshmen friday, my school didnt do it, but i heard it can be bad.

    maybe not come that day.

  3. no. i loved my 9th grade year. and my senior year was my favorite!!!!! you'll love high school.

  4. One of the best years. Like other people said, it's nothing like the movies. Not even close. 9th graders aren't beat up (unless you start it), no one tortures you. We do have freshman bowling week at our school, except this year no one knew when it was, and not very many people were knocked over. It's a lot different than middle school, but it's a lot more fun. There's more privileges. Try not to make it obvious that you're a freshman (even though that's hard to do). You can walk down the hall and think 'freshman' 'sophomore' etc. by the way they act.

  5. Seriously nothing to worry about.  After a day or two you'll just blend right in with everyone else.  Quite a ease actually.  :o)

    Best of luck.

  6. The only time I got beat up in ninth grade was when I picked a fight with a varsity linebacker.

It's really not that bad, as long as you don't pick a fight with a varsity linebacker.

  7. lol its not bad at all , dont worry , worst is during assemblys they boo you when they say freshman. Otherwise you'll be fine

  8. Not really. I just finished!

People are my school are pretty cool with the freshman, but I think you'll be fine in your school.

The classes are pretty hard though if you're in Honors. Stay on top of your grades and don't pick fights with upperclassmen and you should survive!

    Good luck, have fun!

  9. haha no its not THAT bad. =)

im a junior now, but the only tough thing about 9th is the homework. itll be the toughest work year of highschool, so study hard because it WILL prepare you.

and actually, if you just go around and get very familiar with everyone, youll meet a lot of awesome people, maybe some upperclassman.

if you need any advice, dont be afraid to email me ;)

    hope this helps <3

  10. It's been 40+ years ago that I was a freshman in high school and that was my main fear at the time.

There were rumors of freshman initiations.  And worse, we had all summer to think and worry about it.  And of course, as the summer wore on, the rumors got more exagerated.  By the time fall started, there was a bunch of us horrified and trembling at the prospect of starting high school.

Fortunately, nothing happened, there were no initiations, there was no torment to be had at the hands of the "upper classmen".  There were lots of new things to experience & lots of new friends to make.  9th grade is not bad at all.  Before you know it, you will be a sophomore and wondering what all the fuss was about - enjoy it.

  11. no but it's defiantly a big change from middle school

    it's nothing like the movies

  12. i'm gonna be a junior but i'll tell you now cause this has actually happened to me and some people i know...you may not realize it but you lose almost half of your friends because they learn to hang out with different people...don't worry about the picking on the freshmen though...i doesn't really happen

  13. It was so long ago, but I don't remember it being bad at all.  I actually enjoyed being in High School, and I don't recall being tormented by upper classmen.  I'm sure you're just over worrying.

  14. Well I was a freshman a couple of years ago and I had similar fears, but everything turned out okay. I wouldn't worry too much about it. As long as you have a some good friends, you'll be fine, and even if you don't, the high grades keep to themselves anyways. Just enjoy the new experience, high school is much better than junior high in my opinion. Good luck!

  15. My sis said it not as bad as people say...so dont worry =)
