  1. all you need to know it airplanes were mainly invented to fly over opposing nations and drop bombs.

  2. Before the airplanes were invented people still wanted to fly like Edison saw a bird eating insects and thought that this was the reason why birds fly not humans, collected insects, worms and made his cousin to eat them and jump from roof of their house.

  3. The largest changes were faster transport of goods and information and, later, large numbers of people. It was incredible to move mail accross the country in days rather than weeks. Before long, planes were carrying people. Before the airplane, almost all goods and people were carried by train. That would take weeks to transport something halfway accross the country. With the airplane, the same delivery of goods would take days. Militarily, the first aircraft were not created to drop bombs. Their initial purpose was spying and artillery direction. Before the airplane, a reconnaisance mission would have taken a cavalry group days. Airplanes could investigate the enemy in hours. Other missions developed later and often, especially in the case of bombing, were not effective for decades. Perhaps the largest change was that of the minds of the people. Especially in America and Europe, there was a total change in thinking after the advent of the airplane. People were obsessed with flight and breaking records. Everyone fell in love with the danger and adventure of flight. With easier, faster transportation, countries became less isolated and political and social situations changed. The rapid development of aviation technology (and not just due to war) drove advances in hundreds of other industries. There are so many other things to mention that I simply can't keep it up. Essentially, the airplane changed absolutely everything in some way.
