  1. FDR led the US from The Great Depression to superpower status and into World War II. He is also the longest serving President. How can anyone argue with that service? He was a great man.

    This is because he was a rich man of an influencial family. He was also a healthy fit athelete. When he got polio his "life ended" as he knew it. This helped him connect with the people who at the time was also losing their lives (financial). Despite the fact that he was wealthy, he had a very "average joe" personality because of his loss, helping him connect at in consequence, help win the election.

  5. Why would you say that it was the best thing that happened to him. I would like to think that if he had been in good health he might have accomplished even more than what he did.
