How was popcorn made?? Not how do u cook it but how is it made?

I was wondering for some odd reason out of the blue i ask how is pop corn made? is it man made? or what? lol sorry people for such silly question.

Popcorn is made from corn kernels. They get heated and pop.

My grandfather used to grow popcorn in his corn field.  It is grown just like sweet corn or feed corn, it is just a different type of corn.  It is simply removed from the cob and sold for us to pop.  

I remember pushing the kernels off of the cob when I was a little girl, then getting to pop it with my grandmother.  ;-)

It's just dried corn kernels, you put them in a little oil and butter and pop it
