  2. Your lucky! I just got out of a Government/Economics class (we had to have half a unit of each to graduate, so they taught them together in one class) So i can definitely help you. The constitution was an initial compromise because when they made it they couldn't decide on lots of things. For example, one of the biggest compromises was how the body (bodies) of congress would be assigned. One group (of smaller state reps.) wanted it to be based equally so small states wouldn't be left behind or outvoted in making laws, and the larger states wanted it based on population so that they could have more power for having more people. So then, they went with something called the Virginia Plan, when they agreed that one body would be based on population and the other would be based on equality, thus our law-making body today.

    There are several other issues that i won't go into detail about, but i do remember something about how much power the president would have, how he would be elected, nit-picky things like that.
