  1. look it up on wikipedia :/

  2. Dr. Fleming. In the 1930s - 19402.  He found a mould that was antibacterial, yet safe for most humans.  Oh, BTW, don't just blindly trust Wikipedia.  It has avenues for users to add their own nuggets of whatever they want to add.

  3. The fungus (Penicillin) created the antibiotic (Penicillin).  The fungus produces this substance to to improve it's own survival in the environment.

Penicillin (the antibiotic) was discovered by accident in the laboratory.  The fungus is frequently a contaminant if proper technique isn't used.

Alexander Fleming is credited with the discovery.   He observed that a culture of Staphylococcus had been contaminated by a blue-green mold and that the areas around the mold were free of the bacterial colonies.

Fleming (nor anyone else) actually "created" the antibiotic Penicillin.  He just figured out that it could be of value.

Others had observed the action of the fungus on bacterial cultures.  But they discarded it as ruining their experiments.
