How was the phoenician alphabet easier to use than previous alphabets?

  1. Actually, there was a previous alphabet. The previous alphabet did not have vowels so there for it was difficult to read and understand. The Greeks adopted the Phoenician alphabet and by the 8th century B.C. had added vowels, which is why it is easier to read than the previous alphabet. I hope this helped :)
