  4. That's a question that can only be answered by God, since he's the one who did it.  I don't know what he created or how he created it, all I know is he created me.

  5. "Goddidit." - The religious nut-job's answer to everything.

  6. I think the problem with your question is the assumption of creation.  The world was not created.

  7. A question that has perplexed many throughout history. And one that will not be answered conclusively any time soon. Just look at the immensity of our own solar system, let alone the viewable universe.

But there are a lot of theories & myths. That's where religion comes in.

  8. It wasn't created. It just coalesced out of the galactic mess. No "god" was involved or any other creationist force. Other worlds were coalesced too and certainly exist in the galaxy. Whether other intelligent creatures exist is a moot point. If they do they probably have a manufactured religion as we do. We are not in any way special - just a accident of galactic evolution.

  9. LOL, how can any of us know that???  We don't have time machines:)  The only way we could see how it was all done was if we went back thousands and thousands and thousands of years to see how it all came.  (I do believe God did it, I just don't know how it woulda looked like).  xxxxx

  17. Around 4600 million years ago, a supernova created a shock wave that began an agglomeration of material in space, including debris from the nova explosion itself.  By 4568 million years ago, enough materal had accumulated to form the sun, and the process continued; the earth had formed enough to be called earth by 4566 million years ago.  But there was still a lot of unconsolidated material around; a large chunk of this collided with earth 4320 million years ago and knocked out enough of the earth's crust to form the moon.  Life began on earth not long after, and by 2700 million years ago had started to turn the original CO2 atmosphere into oxygen.  But it was another two billion years before life started migrating from the sea to dry land.  And god, being a fiction, had nothing to do with any of this.

  22. This is from the new American Bible ( Saint Joseph edition);Footnotes...The Hebrew conception of the world...

God's Heavenly seat rest above the superior waters. Below these waters lies the firmament or sky which resembles an overturn bowl and is supported by columns.Through the openings (flood gates) in it's vault the superior waters fall down upon the earth in the form of rain or snow. The earth is a platform resting on columns and surrounded by waters, the sea.Underneath the columns lie the inferior waters. In the depths of the earth is Sheol, the home of the dead (also called the nether world).
