Question:

How was your cruise experience in Mexico?

Soo, my bff and I want to go on a cruise next winter - probably in January.

We're thinking about Mexico - the pacific side. There seem to be pretty good deals out there if we book soon!

We're both 21, and are looking for a cruise that is not dominated by younger children and senior citizens! We want to have fun and good entertainment (dancing, etc)

Has anyone had any good experiences with a certain cruise ship, destination, etc that would suit us?

Thanks! :)

  1. last febuary we took carnivals 7 day from LA to cabo, puerto vallarta...it was fantastic...not alot of kids (although most cruises during the school year have few kids)...you will encounter a pretty wide age difference but a cruise is what you what out of it and put into it...there are plenty of bars and clubs, including a casino

  2. We went on the Norwegian Star last March and had a great time.  It was my first cruise so I wasn't sure what to expect.  We had stops in Acapulco, Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa, Puerto Vallerta and Cabo San Lucas.  I understand that they are not going to Acapulco in 2009.

If you'd like to see pictures and read more details about the shore excursions we took, you can read all about it my Squidoo lens:

  3. here's some cruise info from past cruisers - http://allcruiselines.info/

  4. Make sure you check the age restrictions for the cruise line you're interested in - you're not old enough for some.

January is not a prime time for cruising for families with children.  There will be more "mature" adults cruising at that time, or people who can take off then and don't want to be bothered by kids.

  5. try the Carnival Spirit out of San Diego great ports and nice and warm .. http://www.carnival.com/find_a_cruise/se...  Acapulco is a big city and I took a city tour with a guide at the dock cost about 20.00 each and we went every where they will take you to whatever you want to see or do. In Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa i went on the jungle horse ride from the criuse line it was wonderful and still had time to shop and party in town.. Manzanillo is a port where you need to egt to town by cab or take a tour , we went to the ruins in Colima . it was a 7 hour tour but was worth every penny and it included lunch . ship was a blast and there was lots of partying going on. all cruise ships have the older croud, but you will be suprised if there on a cruise ship they might out party you !!!! if money is a factor and you just want to party take the Carnival 3 day weekend out of L.A. mostly party but not the best ports. http://www.carnival.com/find_a_cruise/se...  have fun

  6. It depends on  how much you want to spend and how long.  Pretty much every ship will have the activities you're looking for.  For a short cruise, Carnival runs 4-dayers to Ensenada and the Yucatan Peninsula that are fun.  Royal Caribbean might have less kids, but it probably won't make a difference.
