Afternoon delight

By Cynthia S.

Finally home at four,

stumble in the door

Gracie’s on the floor

sleeping.

The sun has ravaged me.

no breeze goes through the tree

I really need iced tea

with lemon.

To the shower I go

dropping clothes I know

eventually I’ll stow

in the hamper.

Cool water o’er my head

I guess that I’m not dead

dry off, then I’m led

to my recliner.

Elevate sore feet,

George and Gracie meet,

great afternoon treat,

we’re napping.

  4. Cynthia S., Here is my poem that I did, just because you are asking how my day went...

    My day was just okay

    nothing happen very especial

    it was just another day

you know nothing important, new or crucial

If only I can switch lives with someone

    I bet i'll have a ball

but right now nothing is said and done

by me daydreaming staring on a wall

Oh why must I complain and abide

when all I do is sit around

I might as well just go outside

and listen to all the sound

Yes maybe listening to sounds outside is very lame...

but hey, at least I am doing something

I'll rather do that than stay the same

    daydreaming and doing nothing...
