  1. 1st trip was in monterey bay in December!  yes it's freezing cold.  when i got out of the water, i had to pour hot water down my wetsuit.  however, when i was underwater, it was one of the greatest experiences.  it was serene!  i loved that feeling and have been diving since.  but I go to the warm waters nowadays :)

  2. My first dive was in Cozumel on a cruise ship.  I took the 'resort course' on a spur of the moment and ended up getting certified when I got home.  Have been diving ever since.

  3. I got certified in a quarry in Huntsville.  It's not as interesting as the Pelham quarry so I'm not counting that as a 'trip'.

Our first trip was to Cozumel.  We stayed at Scuba Club Cozumel - very well run; courteous and helpful staff.  We were there only a few months after the hurricane and SCC was cleaned up and fully operating.  The diving was exciting both because it was our first big trip and because it was drift diving in a 3 knot current.  We also did our first night dives on that trip.  WOW!  The Reef Octopus come out at night, squid, and Spiny Lobster.  It was amazing to have a 2m Green Moray Eel just swim by like we weren't there.

  4. My first SCUBA trip was to a quarry in Pelham, Alabama. That was where I got certified. The viz (visibility) was low, we could only see about 6-7 feet in front of us. There were tons of brim, a few catfish, and we went through a schoolbus, sailboat, pipe, and saw two cars. It was really fun.
